Dear C-Roots Friends,
It is so cold outside right now. In the morning, there’s ice on the grass, frost on your windshield. Look outside right now—right this second—and imagine sleeping on the side of that road. You know just how cold it is outside, and you know that no one should have to live like that. Everyone deserves a home. Period.
You can make that a reality in Clark County
We are building tiny home villages to get people inside, out of those harsh elements. The rent for a one-bedroom dwelling in Clark County has increased over 58% in the last five years. Renters are being pushed further and further out of the city we all love, so with your help, we are creating an affordable option to keep our neighbors in town.
Everyone is welcome in our community.
The elderly couple who don’t want to deal with home maintenance anymore. The single mom who is sleeping in a tent with her three year old. The son returning home from college. The grandma who lost her home when her Social Security couldn’t cover rent anymore. The family who are employed, but are having to make the choice between shelter and food.
Our communities have heart and help.
Once we get our neighbors settled and warm, our community partners will be providing much needed integrated services, right there on site. From a wide range of health services, to employment assistance, continuing education and activities for all ages, we’re offering the opportunity for folks to get back on their feet and receive the support that is so necessary to move beyond survival mode.
You can give them options.
By including Community Roots Collaborative in your year-end giving, you will make this vision a reality.
Would you be willing to make a special year-end donation of $50, $100 or whatever you can afford to help us meet our goal and bring people in from the cold?
Your generosity would allow us to build up to 80 permanent homes – not temporary shelter – and reinvent the way Clark County approaches affordable housing.
We simply can’t do it without you. Your support will make a real, lasting impact in the lives of those who are still in need.
